The IMMC 2021 Final Presentation was conducted successfully on May 14 and 15. We are very grateful to the host, the Faculty of Applied Science and Textiles of The Hong Kong Polytechnic University (HK PolyU FAST) for their support. We also thank IEEE and HKSIAM and other universities and their professors, experts, and professionals who made the Final Presentation of this year successful.

At the opening ceremony, Chairman of IMMC Committee of Problem Setting and Jury, Prof. Yang WANG, the Vice-President(In) and Chair Professor of Department of Mathematics of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology(HKUST), Chairman of Organizing Committee of IMMC 2021 Final Presentation Competition, Prof. Raymond WONG, the Dean of the Faculty of Applied Science and Textiles, Charea Au Professor in Energy and Chair Professor of Chemical Technology of Department of Applied Biology and Chemical Technology, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University(HK PolyU), Executive Chairman of Organizing Committee, Prof. Defeng SUN, Chair Professor of Applied Optimization and Operations Research of the Department of Mathematics, The Hong Kong Polytechnic University(HK PolyU), and Prof. Raymond CHAN, the Vice-President (Student Affairs) and Chair Professor of Department of Mathematics of the City University of Hong Kong(CityU HK) on the day of the International Round, delivered speeches for this year's IMMC final competition.

Students from Mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau have gone through the autumn or winter seasonal contests of IMMC Greater China, or promoted to the international round after the Greater China contest. It has proved the students' ability to use mathematical modeling to solve real world problems. The final presentation is an opportunity for students to communicate their solutions, show their competence and learn from each other.

This year’s Grand Jury was chaired by Prof. Yang WANG from the HKUST. Other jury members include professors and experts from universities of Mainland, Taiwan, Hong Kong and Macau. The professors and experts listened very carefully to the presentation of the students and raised questions for students to demonstrate their ideas and respond in critical thinking. The jury also recognized the strength in students' works. (The Grand Jury is listed at the end of the article.)

Parallel to the contest, the Hong Kong Polytechnic University held online workshops on different topics for the teams who were waiting to do their presentation or other teachers and students. The topics range from mathematical modeling of the Covid-19 pandemic, environmental protection masks, DNA technology, and quantum computing, etc.. The speakers are from various departments of the Hong Kong Polytechnic University or Huawei Technologies Co., Ltd. They have spent a lot of time preparing for the workshops and interacting with the audience during the workshops, which increased the audience’s participation and helped them to understand the contents.
